ZSOLNAY LARGE FLOOR VASE ANTIQUE HUTTERITE DECORATION
Zsolnay large floor vase in Hutterite's ceramic style. The Hutterites, a religious community who came to Hungary
in the 16th century
. They were very hard-working people and famous for their ceramic objects. Their works are recognizable for their blue-green-yellow colors and their characteristic flower decorations. The Zsolnay factory sometimes used their motifs. On this huge floor vase Zsolnay used not just floral and geometric decoration but made the pattern complete with four galloping horses. On the vase we can see delicate iridescent eosin glaze. It is a high-gloss, shiny glaze, even in natural light difficult to make photo, its highly reflective surface.
Signed at the bottom of the object: round stamp form number 543 and a small part of an original paper vignette.
