Zsolnay Eosin Bowl

Description

ZSOLNAY iridescent ceramic Jardiniére Model no. 8411, circa 1900 with eosin blue/green glaze and a raised manufacturer’s seal to underside. Depending on how the light hits this bowl will show numerous color patterns. This rare piece by Zsolnay was brought to the States in the 1980’s by my Hungarian parents. They purchased this wonderful bowl in Budapest.
This piece is over 100 years old and has a couple of imperfections which are indicated in the photos. They are not significant enough to alter the look of the bowl. I’m actually amazed with the condition of it considering it’s age and travel from Hungary.
The same bowl recently sold at Christie’s for a similar price.
