    Description:
    This is a fantastic piece I acquired at auction while living in NJ.
    I've enjoyed it on my shelf in the library. Due to being rather excessive in my collections, I am putting this piece up for sale.
    This wasn't cataloged well at auction. While sold to me as an Asian sculpture, I would guess it is Japanese rather than Chinese. I think I've seen more Japanese pieces with mixed metals like this than Chinese.
    The figure depicts a man...perhaps a monk--reading a scroll.
    The base is dark and appears to be bronze, although it could just have an applied patina. The remaining is bright and appears to be brass.
    I cannot find any artist signature.
    Measures 7-5/8” long, 3-3/8” wide and 4-1/2” tall.
