Troyan, Bulgaria Redware Pottery Lot Footed Bulbous Vase & Three Mini Vases

Description

The item for sale is a group of four redware pottery pieces that were made in Bugaria during the middle of the twentieth century.  The specific town where this type of pottery is made is Troyan in the interior of the country.  The pottery has distinctive colorful decoration that is often described as feathers and some slip decoration.  The technique used to make the decoration is similar to that used in neighboring Horezu, Romania.  The items were previously owned. The larger blue vase is essentially as made. The smaller vases each have one minor chip on either the inner or outer rim.  The vases have different forms.  They are generally miniatures.  The lot includes the following:
A light blue bulbous vase with a foot and stem.  The bottom of the foot is not glazed and has a stamped mark.  The top of the vase has a diameter 2".  The height is 3 1/2
A squat round mini vase with traditional decoration.   The height and width are 1 5/8" x 1 3/4".

.  This has a flared rim with a chip in it.  This is shown in photograph 9.  The height and width are 2 1/2" x 1 3/4".
A mini vase with traditional decoration plus a black upper portion.  This piece has some minor hairline cracks in it.  The height and width are 2 1/2" x 1 5/8".
