HEREND Hungarian porcelain statue of Geisha
Featuring the demure appeal of the beautifully detailed Japanese girl with down cast eyes
Hand painted in white, orange, and light grayish blue kimono
With vibrant pink, purple, green, and yellow flowers
Purple and 24 karat gold accents on the obi, fan, and hair ornaments
Measures 14 inches (35.5 cm) in height, 7 inches (17.8 cm) in width, and 4.5 inches (11.43cm) in depth
Signed on base with "Herend, Hungary, and Handpainted" about the Herend crest
Impressed is "HEREND"  with an incised design number "5660" (partially hidden by the attached green felt
Hand written in blue is "85" for the year created (1985)
Figurine is in good vintage condition with the handle of the fan having been broken off at the base of her hand.
There is a very small, tight area of scratches at the back of her bun that has a mark of black marker (?) at the center (see photo number 9) and a thin, tiny line of errant paint in light grayish blue on a corner of the base (see photo number 10).
None of these detract from the beauty or durability of the piece and are being noted for full disclosure.
Would look great in any decor.  Treat yourself or someone you love.
